Target is coming to Santa Barbara and my bank account is already crying

The Tab — January 8, 2018

I have never been more excited for anything in my entire life, except maybe Walmart

Students of UCSB, your prayers have been answered.

It has recently been confirmed by the city of Santa Barbara that the gods indeed do smile upon us, and that in October 2018, a Target will be built.

Yup, you read that right.

No, I am not even fucking around right now.

The store will be a small format store, about 34,000 square feet, on State Street in the building that was once the Galleria.

According to Target senior vice president Mark Schindele, the store will carry a “curated assortment of home goods, apparel and more as well as a pick-up point for online orders,” and will create less than 100 jobs in Santa Barbara.
