Greek-California fusion spot coming to El Paseo
One franchisee is bringing the food of two different worlds to one shopping center in northwest Fresno. As the up-and-coming Marketplace at El Paseo continues to grow, franchisee Mosa Gazali of Fresno and his partner are bringing Daphne’s Restaurant — a Greek, California fusion restaurant — and Wayback Burger to the developing shopping center at Herndon Avenue and Highway 99.
Northwest Fresno residents will soon have more options for shopping, eating
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A longtime vision of a bustling shopping center along Herndon and Highway 99 is coming together at the Marketplace at El Paseo. "Phase two involves a number of exciting new tenants namely Hobby Lobby, a brand new Regal, a state of the art theater. 5 Below, Carter's Children's Clothes," said Lewis Smith, the senior vice president of Retail California. He says most shops like Hobby Lobby will open in spring or summer of 2020.
Feds Say Yes to Veterans Boulevard’s Final Piece of Funding
The final funding piece for a key roadway project in northwest Fresno, planned for decades, finally came through. The U.S. Dept. of Transportation awarded the Veterans Boulevard Project a $10.5 BUILD Grant on Wednesday for a project with an estimated total cost of $139 million. With the first segment completed and bidding underway on the all-important second segment — grade separations for the Union Pacific railroad tracks and the high-speed rail corridor — city officials expect the complete 2.5- mile project to be open for traffic in 2023.
More tenants in negotiations for Placerville center, plans suggest
It appears an upcoming Target store has led several major retailers to consider joining a Placerville shopping center. GC Placerville LLC, a joint venture of Gryphon Capital and Rich Development Co., bought Prospector’s Plaza on Missouri Flat Road in June. The purchase price for the 19.87-acre center was $24.13 million, according to records from real estate data service Reonomy.
