Hobby Lobby, Carter’s and Regal Cinemas: northwest Fresno shopping center nears end of second phase
The shopping center that began as fig orchards in 2006 has neared completion of its current stage of development. The opening of Hobby Lobby, Carter’s and Regal Cinemas marks the end of the second phase for Marketplace at El Paseo near Herndon Avenue and Highway 99.
Greek-California fusion spot coming to El Paseo
One franchisee is bringing the food of two different worlds to one shopping center in northwest Fresno. As the up-and-coming Marketplace at El Paseo continues to grow, franchisee Mosa Gazali of Fresno and his partner are bringing Daphne’s Restaurant — a Greek, California fusion restaurant — and Wayback Burger to the developing shopping center at Herndon Avenue and Highway 99.

Fresno’s new Marketplace at El Paseo shopping center will be the first to add a “neighborhood bar concept” to its expanding repertoire of retailers before the model expands to the rest of the Central Valley. The Florida-based Brass Tap franchise will open at the northwest Fresno shopping center, probably around the summertime, according to Lewis Smith of real estate brokerage Retail California.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A longtime vision of a bustling shopping center along Herndon and Highway 99 is coming together at the Marketplace at El Paseo. "Phase two involves a number of exciting new tenants namely Hobby Lobby, a brand new Regal, a state of the art theater. 5 Below, Carter's Children's Clothes," said Lewis Smith, the senior vice president of Retail California. He says most shops like Hobby Lobby will open in spring or summer of 2020.
