MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)—Target is pleased to announce plans to open new stores in Fresno and Rocklin, Calif., in March 2014. The new Fresno store, located on North Riverside Drive, will be part of the Marketplace at El Paseo shopping center. The new Rocklin store, on the northwest corner of Interstate Highway 80 and Sierra College Boulevard, will be part of the Rocklin Commons shopping center.
The Fresno Northwest store will be approximately 140,000 square feet, and the Rocklin store will be approximately 136,000 square feet. Both locations will offer guests the everyday essentials and exclusive brands they have come to expect from Target. In addition, the stores will include a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods, as well as a Starbucks and a Target Pharmacy, to further enhance guests’ shopping experience.
The Fresno Northwest and Rocklin locations will each employ approximately 180-200 team members. Target will host job fairs approximately two months prior to the new store openings, at which prospective candidates may apply and interview for open team member positions. Candidates may also apply online at Target.com/careers or at in-store kiosks located in all Target stores approximately three months prior to the new store opening.
“Target is thrilled to announce two new store locations in Fresno and Rocklin,” said Cary Strouse, Target’s senior vice president of stores in the Western region. “These stores will provide guests with the one-stop shopping convenience they have come to expect from Target.
Target creates strong partnerships with local organizations in all of the communities where the company does business through Target’s community giving programs. The stores will start a local grant program, contribute to the United Way and donate food to a Feeding America member, or approved agency. Target also encourages team members to volunteer their time to serve the needs of their community.
About Target Minneapolis-based Target Corporation serves guests at 1,832 stores – 1,784 in the United States and 48 in Canada – and at Target.com. Since 1946, Target has given 5 percent of its profit through community grants and programs; today, that giving equals more than $4 million a week.
