Burlington Coat Factory opens in Clovis Oct. 11

The Business Journal — September 19, 2013

The newest Burlington Coat Factory store will open to Clovis residents on Oct. 11 in the Village Shopping Center.

The 50,000 square-foot store, located at 70 W. Shaw Ave., will be welcomed to the city with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m.

Clovis Mayor Lynne Ashbeck will be joined at the event with store leadership and some of the 75 employees that will be working there.

The event will also introduce the retailer's Burlington Gives Back program, which aims to donate a portion of its new merchandise to charitable agencies, including the Marjaree Mason Center in Fresno County.

Fresno State University cheerleaders will also appear with their mascot, TimeOut, to celebrate the grant opening.

Once open, the store will sell coats, suits, dresses, sportswear, accessories and shoes for all ages.

The off-price retailer also offers furniture, housewares and home decor and gifts, both in store and through its website.

Other Burlington Coat Factory stores in the San Joaquin Valley are located at Blackstone and Bullard avenues in Fresno and at California Avenue and Easton Drive in Bakersfield.

Another 50,000 square-foot store is expected to open this fall in Visalia, filling the old HomeBase building on Mooney Boulevard between Caldwell and Cameron avenues.

Based in Burlington Township, N.J., Burlington Coat Factory has more than 500 stores in 44 states and Puerto Rico, offering brand name merchandise at up to 65 percent off department store prices.
