The Marketplace at El Paseo, the large shopping center on Herndon Avenue just east of Highway 99 in northwest Fresno, held a grand opening Monday morning.

The center broke ground in early 2013. Rich Development says it's nearly 95% leased to tenants including Target, Ross Dress for Less, Petco, Burlington Coat Factory, Marshall's, Tilly's, Anna's Linens and Old Navy.

Several of the larger stores are scheduled to open this month with construction for the smaller tenants beginning the week of March 17, according to the developer.
